SuperVision is a health communication campaign dedicated to helping parents fight childhood myopia in Singapore!
We are final-year undergraduates at Nanyang Technological University's Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information.
SuperVision aims to educate parents of the prevalence of childhood myopia and equip them with the resources to help kids improve their eyesight.
Hi, I'm Summer!
I want to show you how fun
it is to go outdoors regularly.
Hi, I'm Blurry!
I want to learn all about myopia and how it affects my eyes.
What is myopia?
Myopia, or short-sightedness, is an eye disorder where light focuses in front of the retina instead of on the retina itself.
As a result, farther objects appear blurred to a person.
DID YOU KNOW?
Singapore is #1 in the world for the prevalence of childhood myopia among kids aged seven to nine.
If left untreated, myopia can progress to high myopia, which greatly increases the risk of developing eye-related conditions such as cataract, glaucoma and even blindness.
Environmental risk factors play a big role in myopia. Regular outdoor activity, ensuring sufficient light and reducing near work are some of the many things you can do to delay the progression of myopia.
SuperVision is encouraging parents to take their child outdoors more regularly all month. If your child is in primary school, take part in the SuperVision Challenge and stand to win attractive weekly prizes!
